food for tots

  • Retiring and discovering that you no longer have enough energy to enjoy life and dying a few years later of sheer boredom.
  • Postpoing doing the really interesting things in life for later, when you won't hav the energy
  • Avoiding depression with large daily doses of television.
  • Spending years studying at university only to find at the end of it all that you're unemployable
  • Working from nine till five every day at something that gives you no pleasure at all just so that, after thirty years, you can retire.

Ben abuyah and learning

Rabbi Elisha ben Abuyah used to say:

“Those who are open to life’s lessons and who nurture no prejudices are like a blank sheet of paper on which God writes his words with divine ink.

“Those who are always looking on the world with cynicism and prejudice are like a sheet of paper already written upon and on which there is no room for new words.

“Don’t bother about what you already know, or what you don’t know. Don’t think about the past or the future, just let the divine hands write down each day the surprises of the present”.

The meaning of life?

'Death is imminent for everyone..

When u are about to die, you want to leave something behind for those around you.

Even if you pass away, you want those you leave behind to live happily.

I'm able to do my best to live because i thought this way.'

** came across this dialogue when i was watching a drama **

Life is short.. I really cannot understand why people insist to be calculative with each other, petty with each other, picking on each other. It especially sad when we are working in a cancer setting, dealing with patients who faces death angels everyday, for what????? clueless.. =(

Realised

I think I am finally starting to realise the meaning of all the stuff that I have been reading and reflecting all these time.

All this while i guess i'm just reading them, ponder over their meaning, thought that i understand it, and promptly forgot about it as time past..

I didn't really practise what i believe in that's why i'm constantly pondering over the same old issues over and over again... talk about pot calling the kettle black..ha..

Yesterday night just before i fell asleep, it just suddenly strike me in my head, How long does this have to go on or what have to happen before i realised?

Hmm.. think i'm getting there, it's still at the tip of the ice-berg but i think i'm finally heading towards the right direction.

hope it continues...

"Work is a blessing when it helps us to think about what we are doing. But is becomes a curse when its only use is to prevent us from thinking about what our life means."
